NIGELLA LAWSON/Forever Summer/WHITE1
It's off to the seaside as Nigella Lawson cooks more recipes that keep the taste of summer as the weather turns to autumn.
On a visit to Whitsable with family and friends Nigella is prepared to leave the comforts of her own kitchen for a little, and while the recipes are simple to prepare, the flavours are complex and draw on influences from around the world.
First the children are roped in to help prepare Ricotta Hotcakes with strawberries and syrup for a lazy breakfast. Later in the day it's time for White Chocolate And Passionfruit Mousse and a White Lady, made with lemon juice, cointreau and gin. Finally there¹s Keralan Fish Curry, which draws on Southern Indian flavours for the perfect seaside supper.
NIGELLA LAWSON/Forever Summer/RED
It may be getting cool outside, but the summer heat is still coming from the Nigella Lawson's kitchen. In this episode she looks at some ingredients that can keep the temperature high, whatever the weather.
Fiery red chillies are the essence of her Sticky Spare Ribs, Indonesian spiced chicken and the improbable, but delicious; Ice cream with a red-hot chili syrup.
As a journalist Nigella is naturally reticent to reveal her sources, but credit where credit is due and here she introduces some of the people and places she goes to, to swap ideas and recipes. One of her recent discoveries from an Australian friend is Slut Red Raspberries in Chardonnay: "Could any recipe live up to this name?". Another is a spin on an Italian classic; Crab Linguine with chili and watercress.
